Kung Fu Girls was a fuzzpop band from Oslo started in 1991 by Andreas "Dez" Grøtterud (vocals/guitar), Bård Høvik (bass), Thor S. Kristiansen (drums) and Helge Stuedahl (guitar). Grøtterud had been a member of Astroburger, Anal Babes and Daggers, Kristiansen had played in Kjersti & the Morningbreads from Bergen, and Høvik had been part of King Dick & the Lesbian Dwarves.

The band released two albums and two singles and also contributed to some compilations. Their first album, This Is The Kung Fu Beat, was released on CD in 1993 by Sony Music Norway's "indie" alibi 1:70 and is rightfully regarded as a classic in Norwegian rock. A long-awaited LP reissue was done by Hærverk Industrier in 2019, as the label's first release.

The second album, Puzzle, was put out on CD in 1995 by tiny but true indie label Straitjacket Records (run by Thomas "Happy Tom" Seltzer) and went unnoticed by many, but the song writing, performance and production is even better than on their first record, thus demanding a reissue of its own.

Kung Fu Girls disbanded shortly after Puzzle came out, but were briefly reunited for a concert at Øyafestivalen in 2008.

Puzzle is pressed on 160 gram vinyl, housed in a printed sleeve and black polylined inner sleeve, and includes a 4-panel insert with credits and photos. 300 copies on black vinyl are made for general sale and distribution. 100 copies on blue vinyl are only available from Big Dipper, Platebutikken Tiger and Hærverk Industrier / Kafé Hærverk. 100 copies on purple vinyl are made exclusively for those who crowdfunded the album.
